EMDR Intensives in Cape Coral Florida

EMDR Therapy Intensives in Cape Coral, Florida: Healing Without the Weekly Grind

You aren't looking for a "quick fix," but you are done with the stop-and-start of traditional therapy.

If you've spent years performing for everyone else while you are quietly running on empty behind the scenes, you need a dedicated space to finally do the deep work. My EMDR Intensives remove the weekly check-in and wrap-up, creating the momentum needed for somatic healing that actually sticks.

  • Deep Momentum: Skip the weekly "catch-up" and focus entirely on the root of the pattern.

  • Uninterrupted Space: A 3 to 4 hour dedicated container to process what 50-minute sessions barely touch.

  • Efficient Impact: Accomplish more in a single intensive than in months of disconnected weekly sessions.

You may be a good fit for an EMDR Intensive if you:

  • Have unresolved trauma from past or recent events, big or small

  • Carry childhood trauma, emotional neglect, or an unpredictable upbringing

  • Feel stuck even when life looks stable on the outside

  • Are always the one holding everything together and you're f*cking exhausted

  • Have done therapy before but something still feels unresolved

  • Experience anxiety, shutdown, or emotional overwhelm that won't budge

  • Notice the same unhealthy relationship patterns playing out again and again

  • Are ready to do deep, focused healing instead of spreading it out for years

You Are Not Broken. You Are Burnt Out From Holding Everything Together.

You are the strong one. The fixer. The person everyone depends on when things fall apart. On the outside you function well, you work, you show up, you take care of people, and you keep moving forward.

But internally it can feel like your nervous system never fully turns off.

You’re always anticipating the next problem, replaying conversations in your head, overthinking every decision. You feel emotionally drained even when life looks fine from the outside.

This is what long-term stress and unresolved trauma looks like in high functioning women. It doesn't always look like chaos.

Sometimes it shows up as quiet exhaustion as you continue performing 'fine' until you can't anymore.

An EMDR Intensive is designed for exactly this. It’s for the woman who looks okay but knows something deeper hasn't moved.

What Is an EMDR Therapy Intensive

An EMDR Intensive is a dedicated block of time designed for deeper trauma processing. Instead of squeezing your history into 50-minute blocks, we create an extended container where your brain has the space to access and integrate difficult experiences without the constant interruption of stopping and restarting the work.

This focused format allows you to move through trauma patterns more efficiently while ensuring you stay supported and regulated throughout the entire process.

EMDR Intensives typically include:

  • Extended therapy sessions, no more hitting your stride and then stopping

  • Focused trauma processing using EMDR

  • Fewer interruptions in the healing work

  • Deeper nervous system processing

  • Faster progress for many clients compared to traditional weekly therapy

Why Weekly Therapy Sometimes Feels Like Slow Progress

Traditional weekly therapy can be incredibly valuable for building insight, learning skills, and creating support. But when it comes to deep-seated trauma and old patterns, the 50-minute hour can actually be a bottleneck. You keep getting close to the deep stuff but then you run out of time.

The "Weekly Therapy Tax"

In a standard session, you spend the first 15 minutes "checking in" and catching me up on your week. You spend the last 15 minutes grounding yourself and "putting the lid back on" so you can go back to work or pick up the kids. That leaves maybe 20 minutes for actual processing. It’s like trying to read a 400-page book three pages at a time, you spend half your energy trying to remember where you left off.

The Power of Uninterrupted Momentum

EMDR Intensives change the therapy math. By removing the constant "start and stop" of weekly appointments, we create a dedicated container that allows your nervous system to actually settle into the work.

  • Depth Over Surface: Instead of just talking about the trauma, we stay in the processing long enough to actually shift it.

  • The "3-Year" Shift: Many of my clients report that they move through more "stuck" material in a single 3-hour block than they did in years of traditional weekly therapy.

  • Focus on the Root: We don't spend our time on the "fire of the week." We focus entirely on the source of the smoke, so you can stop pushing your way through your life.

This isn’t about a "quick fix." It’s about efficiency of depth. It’s for the woman who is tired of circling the same themes and is ready to do the work that actually sticks, without the frustrating "50-minute cliff" cutting her off just as she’s getting to the core of it all.

Who EMDR Therapy Intensives Are Designed For

Most clients who choose EMDR Intensives are capable, responsible women who have spent years managing stress, holding everything together, and pushing through difficult experiences.

They’ve done therapy before, read the books, and developed strong coping skills. Yet certain patterns still feel stuck.

Anxiety returns in familiar situations. Emotional shutdown happens automatically. Old relationship dynamics repeat themselves.

EMDR Intensives allow dedicated time to focus on those deeper patterns, the ones that survived years of traditional therapy because talking about them wasn't enough to change them.

Instead of only managing symptoms, the goal is to help your brain reprocess unresolved experiences so your nervous system can finally drop the guard and actually settle.

Traveling to Cape Coral for Your EMDR Intensive?

Woman traveling to Cape Coral for EMDR Intensive

You don't have to live in Southwest Florida to work with me. Many clients travel into Cape Coral specifically to do an EMDR Intensive, and honestly, getting the hell out of your daily environment can actually help you go deeper in your processing.

When you're away from the noise, the obligations, and the constant pull to show up for everyone else first, you get to focus on one thing: YOU!

If you're traveling from out of state, a 2 or 3-Day Intensive package is usually the best fit. It gives us enough time to do a thorough intake, deep processing, and integration before you head home. We'll map everything out together before you book so you're set up for success before you even leave home.

Important: Florida law requires you to be physically in Florida during all sessions. Once you leave, I'm legally unable to provide follow-up support. We'll plan accordingly.

When an EMDR Intensive May Not Be the Right Starting Point

Woman deciding if EMDR Intensive if the right starting point in Cape Coral Florida

EMDR Therapy Intensives are powerful but they're not the right first step for every situation. Some clients benefit from stabilization or foundational skill-building before moving into longer trauma processing sessions. This is exactly what the consultation is for.

  • An intensive may not be appropriate if you're currently:

  • In an active crisis situation

  • Experiencing severe instability in daily functioning

  • Needing foundational stabilization work first

If that's where you are right now, that's completely okay. We'll figure out the right path together.

Common Concerns About EMDR Intensives

What if the work feels overwhelming?

We go at your pace, always. Your nervous system remains within a tolerable range throughout the intensive. The goal is safe, effective EMDR processing, not emotional flooding. Grounding and stabilization are built into every session.

What if I am not ready?

That is exactly what the consultation helps determine. We will briefly talk about your history, goals, and readiness before deciding whether an intensive is appropriate. The goal is to make sure the timing and structure of the work feel supportive and realistic for where you are right now.

What if I don’t remember everything from my past?

You don't need to. EMDR works with patterns, triggers, and emotional reactions, not just clear memories. The brain holds experiences in the nervous system and body even when the full story isn't consciously accessible.

What if I’ve already tried therapy and it didn’t work?

That doesn't mean therapy failed, it means something deeper hasn't been touched yet. Most clients who come to me have done years of traditional therapy and personal growth work. That self-awareness often makes EMDR more effective, not less. The difference is EMDR processes what's been stuck, not just helps you talk about it.

Is the cost worth it?

When you calculate the cost of years of weekly sessions versus days of deep, uninterrupted processing, the math changes. This is about efficiency of depth. You are investing in your ability to finally stop performing and start living. Most clients describe this as the most impactful investment they’ve made in their mental health. HSA/FSA funds accepted and payment plans are available.

Frequent Asked Questions about EMDR Intensives

  • To secure your EMDR Intensive date, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required once we agree to move forward and schedule your package.

Once scheduled, I will hold your dates for one week. During that time, you will need to complete all paperwork and assessments in the client portal. The remaining balance is due in full the week of your intensive.

For example, if your intensive is on a Thursday, the balance is due that Monday. I do offer flexible payment plans, which we can discuss during your consultation to find the best fit for your needs.

  • Let’s talk moo-lah. EMDR Intensives are not covered by insurance. However, you can use your Health Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for either all or a portion of the cost.

If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance might reimburse a portion, though they rarely make it easy. Your best bet is to call the number on your card and ask:

    • Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health?

    • Do I have an out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?

    • What CPT codes do you reimburse? (Ask about code 90837 and billing for extended session time in one day without crisis.)

    • What is the "allowable amount" for reimbursement?

Insurance companies love to be vague AF, so get clear answers before assuming they will cover anything. I can provide a superbill for you to submit, but payment is due in full prior to your session regardless of reimbursement.

  • Intensives work perfectly as adjunct therapy if your current therapist does not offer EMDR. We can team up to ensure you are getting the best support possible. I will ask you to sign a Release of Information (ROI) so I can collaborate with your primary therapist. This keeps your healing goals aligned and ensures you get the most out of the process, no matter where you are in your journey

  • To work with me, you must be physically present in Florida during our sessions. If you are out of state, you can absolutely travel to Cape Coral for an intensive. Many times, getting the hell out of dodge and away from your daily stressors allows you to fully dive into the healing process.

When you are away from the distractions and the constant pressure to over-function, you can finally focus on yourself. If you are traveling from out of state, a 2-day Intensive is usually the best fit. Please note: Once you leave Florida, I legally cannot provide follow-up support. We will create a clear game plan and ensure you have a solid support system lined up for when you return home.

  • EMDR Intensives are a highly effective approach for PTSD and complex trauma. Research shows that this format often leads to deeper symptom relief and fewer treatment dropouts compared to traditional weekly therapy.

This format is especially powerful for childhood trauma and attachment wounds because it allows for concentrated processing without the constant interruption of weekly "check-ins." By eliminating the stop-and-start of traditional therapy, intensives allow you to do the deep work more efficiently.
